Basic Package of Health Services

Health service provision is the main activity of IACK, including the provision of Basic Package of Health Service (BPHS). This health service program implemented by JACK in Kunduz province which covers almost the whole population of Kunduz province, mainly the most venerable. The health services are in line with MoPH with recommended policies including the whole Basic Package of Health Service, which includes the seven components (MCH, Nutrition, Child health and immunization, CDC, Mental health, Disability services and provision of Essential drugs). The OPD consolation, IPDs, preventive and promotive services are all without any charges to the patients. the programs are supporting by MOPH, World bank, UNFPA,UNICEF, WFP and different donors,along with all sehatmand's project p4p indicator.

Malaria Global Fund Project

Kunduz is one of the northern province of Afghanistan which implemented the Malaria project by the JACK Just for Afghan Capacity and Knowledge health Organization. There are 7 district and Totally 90 HFs (75 BPHS and 15 Non BPHS) and 513 Health Posts (1026 CHWs) are working to control Malaria and Leishmania cases. The objective of this project is to Strengthening and Scaling-up Malaria Prevention and Case Management to improve Health Status, therefore from the starting of Malaria project (1.Apr.2019 up Dec.2020) had more progression in this project. For enhancement of HFs staffs conducted training for 54 staffs and also conducted community awareness to 460 community elders. Number of suspected malaria cases that received a parasitological test at public sector health facilities (RDTs and Microscopy) were 49 %, Number of confirmed malaria cases that received first-line antimalarial treatment at public sector health facilities were 57%, Number of suspected malaria cases that receive a parasitological test in the community were 76.5%, Number of confirmed malaria cases that received first-line antimalarial treatment in the community were 55.8%. Kunduz is one of the province which is in the low risk area of Malaria and it is at the elimination phase therefore the Number of suspected malaria cases that receive a parasitological test at public sector health facilities by RDTs and Microscopy were achieved 49 % base on suspected case 57% of confirmed malaria cases that received first-line antimalarial treatment at public sector health facilities. At community level there are 513 health post with couple (1026 CHW) which they test the malaria suspected case by RDT meanwhile base on target suspected malaria cases that receive a parasitological test in the community 76.5% achieved and Number of confirmed malaria cases that received first-line antimalarial treatment in the community base on target reached to 55.8 %. Proportion of confirmed malaria cases among total reported malaria cases (presumed and confirmed) base on target reached to 100%. Overall project performance was affected due to COVID-19 pandemic in 2020, there was lockdown and movement restriction, patients did not attended health facilities to receive health services.

Provision of life saving trauma care (AHF)

Provision of life saving trauma care and psychological first aid services to conflict affected population in hard to reach and under-served areas of Kunduz Province which is funded by UN-OCHA (AHF). Leading Partner of this project is The Johanniter International Assistance (JIA), and Implementing Partner is Just for Afghan Capacity & Knowledge (JACK) which Targets Kunduz Province Districts 1. Kalokh Tapa BHC in Qala-e-Zal, 2. Quter Bulaq BHC in Imam Sahib, 3. Jan Qataghan BHC in Khan Abad and 4. Haje Naeem Jan CHC in Dasht-e-Archiand 5- AmirShaikh BHC in Chahardara. Increased and equal access of conflict injured patients (men, women, girls, and boys) in 5 targeted districts ( Qala-e- Zal, Imam Sahib, Chardara ,Khan Abad and Dashte Archi) to first aid and secondary trauma care and referral services. The total number of beneficiaries to be treated in the FATPs will be 15,840 (M-3,958, F-2,546, B-5,221, G-4,115) .

Targeted Supplementray Feeding Program(TSFP)

Targeted Supplementray Feeding Program(TSFP) for treatment of moderate Acute Malnourished (MAM) childern age 6-59 months and Acute Malnourished Pregnant & Lactating Women (AM-PLW). The project goal is to moderately malnourished children 6-59 months and pregnant and lactating women receive treatment.

AFGHANISTAN COVID-19 EMEGENCY RESPONSE AND HEALTH SYSTEMS PREPAREDNESS PROJECT (Afghanistan COVID-19 RRHSP) To protect Afghan citizens from the spread of COVID-19; To respond and mitigate the threat of posed by COVID-19 in Afghanistan and to strengthen national health systems preparedness and capacity to respond to public health emergencies. One of the aim of this project is to avoid disruption of BPHS/EPHS service delivery under SEHATMANDI project.
